Frequent eye tests and check-ups could be key in preserving your eyesight.

in a recent statement, was why they had started the Victor Daitz Optometry Centre to provide members of the community with affordable eye care. 

“This is the initiative by the society to provide testing for everyone, especially those from disadvantaged communities. 

The clinic operates by appointment only on Tuesdays from 9am until 3pm. 

As a non-profit organisation which provides services to people with special needs, more especially the visually impaired, we encourage community members to visit our clinic and have their eyes tested for proper health care. 

The following are indicative of poor eyesight:

- You are unable to recognise people from distance;

- You feel that objects suddenly appear or disappear from your sight;

- You feel pressure behind the eye;

- You have difficulty in driving at night and seeing street signs in the dark; and

- Your eyes are red, dry, itchy, teary, and painful.

Fees

- Administration R50

- Blood Pressure R10

- Diabetes (sugar levels) R10

- Glasses R160 or more
