DURBAN - A 32-year-old man, believed to be a Pakistani national, who was recently released on bail allegedly in connection with kidnappings, was shot dead in Fordsburg, Johannesburg, today
Police said the incident occurred at 12pm at the corner of Albertina Sisulu and Langerman roads.
Anti-crime activist Yusuf Abramjee tweeted a graphic video of the shooting.
“A Pakistani national linked to kidnappings has been shot dead in Fordsburg JHB. He was released on bail recently. A man walked up to him and shot him in the head,” he captioned the video.
In the video the victim is seen crossing the road and walking towards a CCTV camera.
Moments after the man walks onto the pavement someone walks up behind and raises an outstretched arm towards his head.
The victim immediately drops down onto the pavement.
A bystander about two metres away sees what has happened and runs away.
The shooter pauses for a few seconds before he takes off.
According to Abramjee, the deceased man was identified.

Johannesburg police spokesperson Captain Kay Makhubela said the police are following leads to trace the suspect.
“The man was certified dead on the scene by paramedics. The motive of the shooting will be determined by investigations,” he said.
Police have appealed to anyone with information about the whereabouts of the suspect to contact them on 08600 10111 or send a tip-off via MySAPS app which can be downloaded on any smartphone.
