In March, The Mercury reported that a robbery suspect was allegedly shot in the knee after a gun went off during a struggle on a property in Assagay near Hillcrest in the Upper Highway area in KwaZulu-Natal.

Mobi-Claw 911 responded to the scene and, upon arrival, a struggle ensued between the homeowner, a tenant, security officer and the suspect.

“During the struggle, a shot went off and struck the suspect in the knee,” said Mobi-Claw 911 spokesperson Mike Myers.

“The suspect was arrested and transported to hospital under police guard,” said Myers.

At the time of the report it was unknown whose gun had gone off.
