Two taxi accidents left several people injured on Thursday morning.
ER24 spokesperson Annine Siddall said in a statement that a woman, 44, had sustained moderate injuries after a taxi knocked her down next to Alpine road in Springfield.
“At approximately 7am, paramedics arrived at the scene and found the woman lying next to the taxi.
She sustained moderate injuries to her hip and spine and was transported to Addington hospital for further medical care.”
Siddall said the driver of the taxi and about fourteen school children had not sustained any injuries, but the children were transported to hospital by other emergency services on scene to receive trauma counselling.
Rescue Care’s Garrith Jamieson said that in the second incident at the corner of Leicester and Grimsby roads in Clairwood, 15 people had to be treated for injuries.
“They were transported to hospital for further care.”
