Two more people have appeared in court for the murder of 10-year-old Luyanda Msomi and his best friend, Njabulo Mankayi.
Ali Yusaf, a 46-year-old Malawian, and Liziwe Ngwayishe, a 33-year-old woman from Clairwood, appeared made a brief appearance in the Durban Magistrate’s Court on Tuesday.
They face charges of murder, kidnapping and assault with intent to do grievous bodily harm.
They were remanded in custody until next week, when they will join co-accused Amahle Mawila – who appeared in court on Monday – in the dock.
Njabulo and Luyanda disappeared on Thursday.
The Grade 3 pair was last seen boarding a bus to go home after school.
On Saturday, police recovered Luyanda’s body from dense bush in Montclair, south Durban.
Njabulo’s body was pulled from an area called Grunter’s Gulley, in the Durban harbour on Monday morning.
The community has been outraged by the boys’ deaths and a group which was at court on Monday, returned on Tuesday.
