Meet the biggest, most kick-ass powerful production scooter on the planet - the Aprilia SRV 850. Yes, we said 850.

Under those bulging body panels is an 839cc, fuel-injected, liquid-cooled V-twin that delivers 56kW via a constantly variable transmission and chain final drive.

That's enough to out-drag all but a handful of supercars over anything up to a standing kilometre - and for sure this Italian superscoot won't take any attitude from cars, truck or (especially) minibus taxis.

Aprilia SA capo di tutti capi Andre van Rooyen is bringing in just one “to assess it under local conditions and evaluate the market for such a powerful scooter”.

We think he just wants for himself - but he's promised us a ride on it.
