Suzuki has released the first in a series of videos that will document the development of the second-generation V-Strom 1000 adventure tourer, due for release in 2014.

In it product planner Tomohisa Ichimaru talks about the research and development of the new V-Strom and the concept to which the project team worked.

Ichimaru-san, who has worked in product planning with Suzuki since 2000, also covers his previous experience with V-Strom models, particularly the 650, and explains what he wanted to achieve with the new bike and how those ideas became firm plans.

Suzuki has also launched a website dedicated to the new V-Strom 1000, charting the history of the DR Big series, from which the 2014 V-Strom takes its design cues, the history of the V-Strom, and images and sketches of the 2012 Intermot V-Strom concept model.
