One of the highlights of the AMG stand at the 2011 Frankfurt motor show will be this motorcycle - the Ducati Diavel AMG Special Edition.

The 2012 flagship model of the Diavel family will make its world debut at Frankfurt as a tribute to Ducati's tie-up with AMG, first announced at the 2010 Los Angeles show with a sponsorship agreement for the Ducati MotoGP Team.

That collaboration has now moved to the street with the Diavel AMG, the first model to combine the distinctive styling features of both marques.

It's based on the Diavel Carbon, but with special AMG five-spoked wheel styling, carbon-fibre lateral radiator grills with aluminium trim, AMG sports exhaust system with engraved end-caps and AMG-style horizontally ribbed seat upholstered in alcantara.

Each Diavel AMG engine has its desmodromic cam-timing set by hand, with the name of the engine technician who built it engraved on the left-side engine casing.

The Diavel AMG is dressed in matt-black carbon-fibre bodywork with gloss white stripes and trellis frame, and AMG logos on the wheels, seat, exhaust end-caps and laser-engraved on the air-duct panels either side of the fuel tank.

Each bike will also have a numbered plaque on the fuel tank.

Orders for the Ducati Diavel AMG Special Edition will open at Frankfurt for delivery early in 2012; a range of matching helmets and leatherwear will also be available then.
