New Delhi - Harley-Davidson has launched a new 410 000-rupee (R72 750) model for the Indian market, its most affordable motorcycle yet. Spokeswoman Ankita Lal said the Street 750, unveiled at the annual Delhi Auto Expo, would be built at the company's plant in Bawana, in the northern Indian state of Haryana and also exported to select international markets.

Powered by a V-twin engine designed for urban riding, the model will be the first Motor Company product to be manufactured outside the United States since the Italian-made singles of the 1970s.

COMING TO SA IN 2015

Harley-Davidson India managing director Anoop Prakash said: “We believe the Street 750 will excite a new segment of urban riders in India who will appreciate the opportunity to experience the Harley-Davidson lifestyle at an accessible price point.”

The Harley-Davidson Street 750 will be released in South Africa early in 2015 - Sapa-dpa
