Suzuki has returned to the enduro market with the RMX450Z, based on the RM-Z450 motocrosser but with its 450cc four-stroke engine retuned for enduro racing and an electric start.

The RMX retains the RM-Z's Keihin fuel-injection system and adds retuned suspension, a lighting kit (thanks to a magneto generator) and an enduro-friendly 18" rear wheel.

Suzuki GB's David Taylor said: "The public has been asking us for this bike for some time now, so it's a bike whose time has come.

"Features such as the electric start with back-up kick start, 18" rear wheel, side stand, sump guard and digital instruments show that this is a bike developed especially for enduro and not just a converted motocross machine."

Suzuki SA has not yet decided whether the RMX450Z will be released in South Africa. Pricing will be set if and when it gets here.
