Dubai, United Arab Emirates - Volkswagen unveiled the super-luxury Phaeton Lounge at the recent Dubai Motor Show, a 6.8m stretch limousine built from three Phaeton chassis.

It's driven by 313kW W12 engine and, according to VW, the first four-wheel drive system on a stretch limo; its top speed limited to 180 km/h.

The Phaeton Lounge is aimed at super-rich customers in the Middle East and offers seating for four people behind a partition separating them from the driver.

Individual seats with adjustable footrests offer maximum comfort, there's a pop-up minibar in the centre console and each passenger can adjust the air conditioning individually. Tinted windows give maximum privacy.

Two 17cm screens in the roof provide entertainment on board and a computer in the boot is linked to the internet via satellite. - Sapa-DPA
