Czechowice Dziedzice, Poland – Don’t let the name fool you; the Carlex Design Mercedes Sprinter Jet Van is no faster than a standard Sprinter crew bus. It's mechanically standard – but the interior has been fitted out to a level of luxury seen in only the upper echelon of executive jets.

This plutocratic office / club lounge on wheels has been trimmed in a mix of black and grey leather and alcantara synthetic suede, with contrasting piping, top-stitching, webbing and perforation in gold, to match the 24 karat gold-plated cup holders, the rim of the minibar (of course it has a minibar!) and the side-panel trim, while the laptop holders, centre console, and floor are covered in exotic wood veneer.

The conservative, almost late-Victorian ambience highlights the state-of the art electronics, including a 101cm 3D screen showing images from cameras outside the Sprinter and a 54cm one for images from inside the passenger compartment.

Either of two 30cm tablets controls the air conditioning, seven-way electric passenger seat adjustment, automatic window sunshades and ambient lighting from LEDs in the sides and roof. The interior has also been soundproofed to studio standards to allow the fullest enjoyment of the professional-level audio system.

On the outside, Carlex has fitted a body kit and a set of distinctive (read: over the top) gold-coloured rims.

Since each Carlex conversion is uniquely tailored to the customer’s requirements, no price is quoted; what it costs depends on how much you are willing to spend.
