Nip and tuck for Chevrolet Sonic

Shanghai - Chevrolet has revealed a facelifted version of its Aveo/Sonic for the Chinese market.

Though it features Chevrolet's new signature design language, dubbed “Design with a Heartbeat” it remains to be seen whether the changes you see here will be specific to the Chinese market or rolled out to the rest of the world.

That said, the facelift is a team effort created by numerous members of GM's global design network.

Most of the change takes place at the front end, where new headlights flow into the upper chrome grille, while the larger lower airdam helps maintain the appearance of a traditional Chevrolet 'dual-port grille'.

Subtler enhancements, to the taillights and bootlids, round off the styling changes to the sedan and hatch range.

We're currently awaiting feedback from GMSA on its future plans for the Sonic range.
