Chrysler's new 60-second TV ad showcases the 2013 Chrysler 300C Motown Edition and features Motown founder and Detroit native Berry Gordy, taking you through his journey from humble beginnings in Detroit to the bright lights of New York's Times Square.

The spot opens with Gordy sitting in the backseat of the Chrysler 300C Motown Edition parked outside the Motown Museum in Detroit, the building where Motown Records was created. As the car pulls away the voiceover begins to tell the story while images of a young Stevie Wonder, Smokey Robinson and the Miracles, the Supremes and the Temptations flash across the screen. The commercial ends with Gordy stepping out of the car and saying, "We are Motown and this is what we do."

The 2013 Chrysler 300C Motown comes with chromed front and rear trim, mirror housings, door handles and daylight-opening surround, a special Mopar chromed grille with seven sculpted horizontal blades and 20" polished 'heritage' alloy rims.

Touring-tuned suspension delivers a plush ride, while white nappa leather seats with stamped Motown logos, perforated inserts, black piping and accent stripes, stand out from the otherwise all-black interior.

There's piano black lacquer on the centre stack, instrument panel, steering wheel, instrument panel and door panels, with trim accents in black olive ash veneer and satin silver finish.

If cars are the heart of the Motor City, music is its soul.

The Motown Edition comes with a 100-track Motown compilation pre-loaded on to the memory of its Uconnect 8.4 infotainment system and a special 10-speaker Beats Audio system with 12-channel amplifier and proprietary Beats Audio algorithm.

Motorvation is provided by Chrysler's proven 215kW, 3.6-litre Pentastar V6 engine, via a ZF eight-speed automatic transmission, and the 300C Motown will sell for $32 995 (R281 500) when it reaches US showrooms in the second quarter of 2013. Sadly, it's unlikely the 300C Motown Edition will be released in South Africa.
