Daihatsu used the Indonesian International Motor Show to sneak in a preview of its upcoming subcompact hatchback, simply refereed to as the A-Concept in show car form.

The Japanese small car specialist has not divulged much about its new baby, but the wording in its release does imply that it was designed to meet the needs of the Indonesian market.

Whether this will be a global player remains to be seen then, but the design of the concept does show that Daihatsu is taking a braver and more stylish approach to its exterior design and if this concept is not a foretaste of the next Charade, then it will surely influence it to some extent.

As with practically every Daihatsu creation, the design brief for this car was to use the company's small car expertise to achieve excellent fuel efficiency and resource conservation at affordable prices.
