Chrysler South Africa has added a third derivative to its Dodge Journey station wagon line-up, featuring Chrysler's proven 2.4-litre 16-valve VVT petrol engine as an entry-level alternative to the established 3.6-litre V6.

In this application - mated to a six-speed automatic transmission - the 2.4-litre four is rated at 125kW and 220Nm; Chrysler quotes combined-cycle fuel consumption of 9.6 litres per 100km and CO2 emissions of 225 g/km.

FIVE-SEATER FAMILY WAGON

The new Journey will be offered only in five-seat format, with the same SXT trim level as the standard 3.6-litre model, including body colour door handles, black side roof rails, highline door panels and fabric upholstery.

Available now, it retails for R319 990, alongside the 3.6-litre V6 SXT at R349,990 and the upmarket 3.6-litre V6 R/T at R383,990 - each with a three-year or 100 000km warranty and a three-year or 100 000km service plan.
