Ex-Audi designer Peter Schreyer has been putting a refreshing new styling stamp on the modern Kias and the latest to benefit is the firm's Corolla fighter.

What you see here is the all-new Cerato, which will be launched in South Korea later this year and while no South African launch dates have been confirmed as yet, our local contact expects the first units to arrive during the second quarter of 2013.

LONGER AND LOWER

In tune with its sportier disposition, Kia says its latest C-segment sedan is lower, longer and wider than the current model and is built with an all-new body shell structure.

Buyers can also look forward to a more spacious interior with improved quality and more gadgets, as well as a new engine range that claims to deliver class-leading fuel economy. However, for now Kia is not divulging any detail on these engines.

As we've previously speculated, one of these engines will almost certainly be the Hyundai group's new 1.6-liter direct injection petrol engine that produces 99kW.
