Frankfurt Motor Show - Mazda is creating some stylish cars these days and its latest concept points towards even better things to come.

Mazda doesn't state any production intent for the Koeru concept, revealed at the Frankfurt show on Tuesday, but it does look rather showroom-ready and judging by its basic dimensions it could easily signal a sportier 'coupé-inspired' version of its CX-5 SUV.

Something of a cut-price alternative to the BMW X4, perhaps.

Mazda says the Koeru was conceived "to extend a new kind of value in the fast-growing and hard-fought SUV arena", and to create a "truly formidable presence" thanks to its sporty face, substantial width and 12-inch wheels.
