It's time to say goodbye to old 'four eyes' as the Mercedes-Benz E-Class has been nicknamed ever since the 1995 model hit the streets with its dual round headlight design.

Fast forward to the latest generation and the E-Class still has four eyes, albeit with a square shape but that's about to change when the upgraded 2013 E-Class goes on sale.

The official teaser video below shows us the new single-piece headlights that will adorn the upgraded E-Class.

The new headlights will join other styling tweaks that bring will bring the E into line with other modern Mercedes-Benz models.

Not much else is known about the new model, but it's likely that all will be revealed sooner rather than later.
