According to Mini, the new Vision concept showcases various elements of future Mini design.

Yet judging by previous undisguised prototypes that have been seen, we can safety say that this is a very close preview of the next-generation Mini hatchback.

The larger, more streamlined headlights and wider, bolder grille are elements you'll certainly see on the new British hatch, along with the more aerodynamic shape and bigger taillights.

Same goes for the basic interior shape, which retains the central 'grand father clock' screen but replaces the circular air vents with an angular shape.

OLD AND NEW

Mini believes that the new design reaches a perfect balance between old and new and is "laced with new creative impulses that advance the cause of premium quality in the compact class."

Of particular interest in the cabin is the Driving Experience Control switch that allows the entire cabin to be transformed into a variety of different colour and graphic styles at the flick of a switch and there's even a mode that turns the footwells into a 'Mini Disco floor'.

Another thoughtful, and patriotic, touch are the fabric straps on the insides of the doors which are arranged to resemble the stripes of the Union Jack flag.

The new Mini three-door is set to be unveiled, in showroom guise, this November and it'll be followed by a multitude of body styles - including a five door model, according to reports. But will it have a disco floor?
