Nissan has given its Navara bakkie an extra dose of 'bush cred' with the introduction of the Navara Safari - a limited-edition version tailored under the guidance and advice of 4x4 expert Glyn Demmer for the 4x4 enthusiast who enjoys overland excursions.

The Safari is based on the Navara 2.5 dCi Double Cab 4x4 LE and is available with either a six-speed manual or five-speed automatic transmission, and a raft of special equipment.

That includes:

All-terrain tyres for optimum grip off-road without compromising on-road dynamics.

A front-mounted nudge bar that provides protection from trees and shrubs as well as serving as a solid mounting point for the spotlights.

Hard-wearing cotton canvas seat covers with storage pockets

Easy-to-clean Safari-branded carpets

A rubberised load box with tonneau cover.

Underbody protection plates for the engine, gearbox and transfer case.

Custom-built protective rocksliders to protect the side sills.

A removable tow bar with recovery points, so you can use all of Navara's 3000 kg towing capacity without losing departure angle.
