Chicago, Illinois - With North America in the grip of icy weather Nissan has created these three Winter Warrior show cars for the Chicago motor show.

They're capable of dealing with even the record-breaking snowfalls experienced in the Mid-West this winter - but they're not as outrageous as they look. The custom-built Pathfinder, Murano and Rogue crossovers are fitted with heavy-duty Dominator snow-track conversions available off the shelf from American Track Truck.

New Murano sleeker, smoother, smarter

Each track is 1200mm long, 760mm high and 380mm wide, and replaces the car's wheel and tyre. The suspension and wheel wells were modified to fit the snow tracks but other than that, the three SUVs are mechanically completely standard.

Nissan Design America printed identical matte red-chrome body wraps with a special track design and 'Winter Warrior' logos, and the three cars were kitted out with a range of Nissan aftermarket accessories, including cargo area protectors, all-season (read 'mudproof') floor mats, roof-rail cross-bars and rear bumper protectors.

HARDCORE FUN

Each one also has a 2750 x 2750mm hatch tent for hardcore winter camping enthusiasts. Yeah, right.

But seriously, the three Winter Warriors were built to show that a genuinely capable all-wheel drive snowmobile is within the reach of any 4x4 enthusiast with access to a competent auto technician. And because they're fun.
