Paris, France - Renault has released these teaser images of the fifth-Generation Espace, due to debut at the Paris Motor Show.

Based largely on the concept that was first shown a year ago at the 2013 Frankfurt Motor Show, a year ago, the new Espace will be introduced to the world on 2 October by Renault/Nissan boss Carlos Ghosn.

As with previous generations of this large MPV over the past 30 years, the designers' emphasis has been on creating a brightly-lit, occupant-friendly and comfortable interior, with outstanding versatility - in both five and seven-seater versions - thanks to mix-and-match seating and a floating centre console.

The styling is also very much in the modern idiom, with a strong waistline rising towards the rear and a sleekly tapered roofline; in fact, Renault’s media release refers to the new Espace as a crossover rather than an MPV.

No details have been released as to engines or drive-trains - in fact the only concrete information we have is that there are no plans for the new Espace to be sold in right hand-drive markets.
