Johannesburg - New vehicle sales in South Africa grew to 557 586 units last year, a modest 1.8 percent increase over 2016’s sales but an encouraging sign in that it was the first growth in four years.
The monthly sales reports sent out by the National Association of Automobile Manufacturers of SA (Naamsa) reveal how the various model derivatives fare but some brands - most notably BMW and Mercedes-Benz - choose not reveal their sales figures on a monthly basis.
Naamsa has now released the detailed 2017 new-vehicle sales stats which include BMW and Mercedes-Benz and paints a complete picture of which are the country’s most popular cars, SUVs and bakkies.
