Johannesburg - Has your car’s factory service plan expired and you’re looking for a garage to service and maintain it?

Help is at hand with a new website called MechanicBuddy.co.za , which features a simple to use homepage where users can enter where they live, what type of car they drive, and what repairs or servicing is required.

The site then offers a list of suitable workshops with contact details, and can even help generate quotations for work to be carried out. The concept is based on similar websites which have been successful in the US and UK.

MechanicBuddy.co.za is still in its early stages and its list of registered workshops is yet to be fully populated, but its team is hoping to grow its database to 5000 mechanics or garages over the next year.

Anyone can add a shop to the website without charge, and listings are provided for free.
