Paris, France - The Citroen C3 WRC concept rally car you see here is apparently very close to the final version that will make its competition debut at the Monte Carlo rally in January 2017.

Based on the sporty new C3 hatch that will premiere at the Paris motor show at the end of September, it already complies with nearly all the changes to WRC regulations for 2017. In particular, it's 55mm wider than the production car to fit in with the FIA's revised maximum width of 1875mm.

It also has a more radical front spoiler and rear diffuser as per the 2017 rules and a bigger rear spoiler, fitted further for more downforce. Engine power is up to about 280kW, thanks to a larger 36mm turbo flange, and the concept is 25kg lighter than the previous Citroen WRC contender.
