Crewe, England - The fastest Bentley production car ever has just become even more potent.

Bentley has made some revisions to its Continental GT Speed and the most important of these is where it counts. The GT's 6-litre twin-turbo W12 engine has undergone some tinkering, with power rising from 467kW to 472kW and torque up 20Nm to 840Nm, the extra twisting force applied across the rev range.

It takes 30 dedicated employees over 12 hours to assemble one of these engines, but the finished product gathers momentum somewhat more swiftly. According to the modest chaps at Bentley, the new Speed will surge from 0-100km/h in just 4.1 seconds and reach a top speed of 331km/h.

The other notable revision to the GT Speed comes in the form of a new Black Edition package that brings additional glamour in the form of black 21-inch alloy wheels and various high gloss black finishes. To add further distinction, the front splitter, side skirts and rear diffuser come in a contrasting colour and here the client has a choice of Cyber Yellow, St James' Red, Hallmark or Beluga.

The mood inside is set by a mixture of dark tones and vivid highlights, with abundant carbon fibre surfacing and unique contrasting leather colour schemes. The Mulliner GT Design seats and inner door panels feature diamond quilting, of course.
