Paris - Renault has given us a sneak peek of its very mildly updated Captur just ahead of its reveal at next week’s Geneva Motor Show.

Most of the changes apply to an extended range of exterior colour combinations, but some light revisions have happened to the head- and tail-lights and front grille section which is designed to look more like other Renault SUVs such as its bigger sister the Kadjar. The brand’s full LED light option, called ‘Pure Vision’ becomes available on higher specced Capturs, and the LED running lights positioned lower in the bumper get a new C-shaped motif.

The Clio-based crossover also sees new skidplates front and rear, though they’re in place more for aesthetics than true underbody protection. Four new alloy wheel designs have been added – two 16-inchers for lower trim levels, and two 17” options for range toppers. A fixed glass roof is also possible now, but only in combination with two-tone paint and only in high-spec Capturs.

With two new paint choices – Atacama Orange and Ocean Blue – buyers will now have more than 30 colour combos to choose from, but Renault has simplified the process with five pre-paired exterior packages. The personalisation packs also carry on in the cabin, where there are now six options for various upholstery and trim combos.

Renault South Africa can confirm the updated Captur will arrive in the third quarter of this year, but cannot yet guarantee if all of the new items mentioned above will be available locally.
