The H6 is due in South Africa in early 2013.

GWM unveiled its new H6 SUV at the recent Durban Motor Show and it's heading to a showroom near you early next year.

Appearing more sporty and luxurious than any previous GWM SUV, the H6 was China's best selling SUV in September this year and the company will also be selling it in the highly discerning European market.

While local information is not forthcoming at this stage, the Chinese market model is offered in 4x2 and 4x4 formats and is powered by a 2-litre turbodiesel engine.

Already offered in the Steed range, the engine is credited with 110kW at 4000rpm and 310Nm from 1800rpm. The Euro IV emissions-compliant motor is capable of taking the H6 to a top speed of 180km/h.

Flagship Chinese models are offered with some high-end features, including automatic climate control, six-way power-adjustable driver's seat, Bluetooth and rear-view radar and camera.
