Idecore pens butch Alfa Romeo concept

Clearly not everyone is a fan of the rather soft and curvy design direction that Alfa Romeo has taken in recent years, a case in point being the independent Italian design studio Idecore.

This is not an official Alfa Romeo concept car, but rather Idecore's take on what a future Alfa Romeo sports car should look like. Designed by Marco Marchese, the Minhoss was styled using bits and pieces of inspiration from various Alfa Romeos from the past and present and there's plenty of '80s and '90s influence in its squared off lines.

As these are computer-generated images there's still no word on whether a full working concept car will ever be produced, but Idecore has brushed over its intended specifications, stating that the car would be powered by Alfa Romeo's 1.75-litre direct injection turbopetrol engine, with around 197kW on tap, and that it will be around 4.1 metres in length, making it slightly shorter than the current Alfa Romeo GT.

Idecore also penned the Monza V8 concept car, a grand tourer designed to honour Alfa Romeo's centenary last year. What is your take on the Minhoss concept you see here? Should Alfa Romeo consider hiring the firm for its future designs or are the softer lines of modern Alfas like the 4C concept more up your alley?
