UK sports car specialist Lister has made a bold promise to the world - soon it’ll be presenting the planet’s fastest road-going SUV, called the LFP.

Lister is keeping most of the details under wraps for now, but is enticing us with an estimated power output of 500kW, 0-96km/h time of 3.5 seconds and top speed of 340km/h.

The LFP will sport extensive carbon fibre modifications to keep weight to a minimum and although no mention has been made of the engine as yet, given that the vehicle is based on Jaguar’s F-Pace SUV, it’s a safe bet that power will come from a heavily modified version of Jaguar’s supercharged V8, which currently produces 405kW in the SVR model.

The LFP is currently available to order in the UK, with a price tag of £140 000 (R2.77-million).

CEO Lawrence Whittaker said: “I am delighted, overwhelmed and gratified by the huge level of interest, excitement and orders our LFT-666 supercar has already generated in just a few months.

“Based on early indications, our new LFP promises to repeat the success of the LFT-666, and I really can’t wait to reveal the world’s fastest SUV quite soon.”
