The name G-Power, to many motor-heads, has come to stand for M-Power with extra Grunt, lots and lots of extra grunt.

To date the German tuner has unleashed a 736kW M6, 603kW M5 and 533kW X6, among others, and now the speed wizards have turned their attention to the latest M3 Sedan and M4 Coupé.

Though not the meanest of G-Power creations, the pair still offer a gobsmacking power increase over the standard versions, with the M-Division's 3-litre twin-turbo straight six having been tuned up to 441kW at 6500rpm and 740Nm at 4000 to 5500rpm, from 317kW and 550Nm.

This, according to claimed figures, gives you an extra 0.4 seconds from 0-100km/h, the sprint now taking 3.7 seconds, and for an extra 660 euro (R11 300) the tuner will toss the speed governor in the trash, liberating a top speed of 320km/h.

Three main mods contribute to the increase in power.

The first essential ingredient is G-Power's Bi-Tronik 2 V3 engine management module, but since the standard turbo chargers were not considered up to the 441kW job, the tuner re-engineered them with bigger-yet-lighter turbine wheels, which also reduce inertia.

Finally, G-Power has installed a titanium exhaust system with larger downpipes.

The performance modifications are listed separately in the price guide and to have all three adds up to 14 483 euro in Europe, equating to around R250 000.

But don't drive off just yet as G-Power is also happy to sell you a fully-adjustable GM4-RS coil over suspension system for the corners, for an extra 2880 euro (R50 000) and various aerodynamic 'look-faster bits', including two front splitter options, a rear diffuser and spoiler.

You might also fancy those G-Power Hurricane RR 21-inch alloys.

G-Power products are reportedly available in South Africa, on special order, through Promotec .
