Munich - BMW has wrapped up the teaser campaign for its seventh generation 3 series sedan, with a frontal pic and assembly line video, ahead of its debut at the Paris Motor Show next Tuesday, October 2.

The illuminated frontal image shows that the new 3 will follow a similar theme to the latest 5 and 7 Series sedans, with a larger grille and headlights, more closely connected than before.

The compact sports sedan is also set to follow those aforementioned larger siblings onto the company’s latest CLAR platform for rear-wheel-drive vehicles, with the engine range likely including an uprated 2-litre four-cylinder as per the latest Z4 Roadster and a 3-litre unit with around 250kW in the M340i.

Look out for the latest Live Cockpit Professional infortainment system, upgraded heads-up display and digital instrumentation in the cabin of the all-new 3.

This will also be the first 3 Series (apart from the first-generation E21 series) not to be built at South Africa’s Rosslyn plant as production recently switched over to the X3 in line with changes to the company’s export programme.

The new sedan will however be imported as per the last units of the current generation, with the first units expected during the first half of 2019.
