Whitley, West Midlands - This, says Land Rover, is going to be the most capable convertible in the world.
And to back up that claim it has released this video of the Range Rover Evoque Convertible completing the final phase of testing at Land Rover’s Eastnor Castle estate, in Herefordshire.
Chief engineer Mike Cross said: “We pride ourselves on being class leaders when it comes to all-terrain capability and the Evoque Convertible is no different, thanks to a combination of innovative engineering and the application of advanced technologies that have been tested around the world. We call it 'The Convertible for all Seasons'.”
BOLD CLAIM
That's a bold claim, given that it will have to compete for the title 'most capable convertible' against its own short-wheelbase Defender 90 stable-mate and the original go-anywhere vehicle, the Jeep Wrangler, but if the video is anything to go by, the Evoque Convertible will hold its own in any company.
The Range Rover Evoque Convertible will make its world debut at the Los Angeles motor show in November and will be launched in Europe in the second quarter of 2016. It will be released in South Africa during the third quarter of that year as a 2017 model.
