Jakarta - If you’ve ever dreamed of a baby Type-R, you’re surely going to fall in love with this little show car called the ‘Small RS Concept’, and revealed in Indonesia on Friday.

But there is more to this concept than simply shrink-wrapping our Type-R fantasies - take away all those skirts and spoilers, plonk smaller wheels on and respray with a more subtle colour and you’re more than likely looking at the next-generation Brio, which has already been revealed in sedan form.

But we also can’t unsee all the sporty stuff on this concept, so Honda now officially owes the world a warmed up version of the next Brio too.

Honda says its RS Concept, created by the company’s Asia Pacific division, is its vision of “what a small and sporty car should be”.

There’s no mention of what’s under the hood, but right now we’re imagining a Brio RS production car fitted with the 97kW 1.5-litre engine that currently powers the Jazz Sport…

Regardless of whether something like that happens, humbler Brios will follow a similar basic path to today’s hatchbacks, with power coming from Honda’s 1.2-litre I-Vtec motor.

This is currently the only engine fitted to the new Amaze sedan.

You can also expect a more upscale cabin, inherited from the aforementioned sedan, and pictured below.
