Brussels, Belgium - Toyota has released a teaser pic of its all-new third-generation Auris hatchback ahead of its world premiere at the Geneva Motor Show next week.
the new five-door will be aiming to lure more buyers in the Golf class with a curvier and more emotive design and though this darkened side profile picture doesn’t reveal too much, we can certainly see the European influence.
The Auris will be built on Toyota’s ‘TNGA’ platform that also underpins the latest Prius and C-HR.
The new Auris will usher in Toyota’s brand new 2-litre hybrid powertrain, which employs the same size, weight and loss-reducing technologies found in the latest Prius.
This is the only engine that Toyota is mentioning for now, but the familiar 1.2-litre turbopetrol mill is practically certain to appear in the line-up and the Auris could also get Toyota’s redesigned ‘Direct Shift’ CVT and six-speed manual gearboxes.
However, the new Auris is sure to be overshadowed at Geneva by the world premiere of the concept version of the upcoming Supra sports car.
