Affalterbach - Mercedes-AMG’s teaser campaign for its upcoming GT four-door is becoming drawn out to say the least, but if you're keenly anticipating AMG's upcoming Panamera rival, this latest batch of pictures should help tide you over until the reveal in Geneva next month.

The prototypes you see here are still camouflaged, but the car is wearing less disguise than before and we now get a clearer look at the taillights and side profile.

We’re still waiting to hear what’s under the bonnet, but popular speculation is that the initial version will have the E63’s 450kW 4-litre twin-turbo V8, while an even hotter petrol-electric hybrid variant could be unleashed at a later stage.

Going up against Porsche's Panamera Turbo, the new AMG will be a clear attempt to blur the lines between sedan and sports car and that’s never a bad thing in our book.

The four-door AMG has already been previewed in concept form by last year's

, and the latest prototype pictures seem to suggest that the production version has remained fairly faithful to the showcar.
