What is claimed to be South Africa’s first live, online, real-time Internet based vehicle auction bidding system has been unveiled.
Backed by Park Village Auctions, the system opens up the vehicle auction market to a potentially vast new national audience of consumers, dealers and businesses via the Internet.
Bidders must pay a deposit first which enables them to register and bid for their vehicle of choice.
Once registered, they can see who is bidding against them which ensures transparency and eliminates the risk of “ghost bidding”. Online bids are submitted incrementally as bidding proceeds on the day, via home, office PC or other devices.
Prospective buyers may inspect the cars on the viewing day allocated, usually the day before the auction.
