Knysna - Online ticket sales are now officially open for next year’s Jaguar Simola Hillclimb, with special early bird prices for race fans who buy before the end of the year.

A wide variety of day tickets, weekend passes and hospitality access is offered for the event, which is scheduled to run from May 4 to 6 in Knysna next year, but some are limited in availability so act fast if you want to secure a spot at one of South Africa’s premier motorsport happenings.

“This is the earliest we have opened ticket sales for the Jaguar Simola Hillclimb, and is indicative of the high level of interest amongst fans,” says director Ian Shrosbree. “We are also offering tickets for the remainder of the year at 2017 prices with the Early Bird Special. This gives spectators good value and reason to buy their tickets well in advance.”

General Entry, Pit Access and Weekend Passes, ranging in price from R100 to R400, will be sold at reduced rates until December 31. Pit access, which allows visitors to get up close and personal with the cars and competitors, is limited to 400 tickets for each of the Hillclimb’s three days.

As usual VIP packages are available, and in addition to the usual start-line Le Mans Lounge, organisers have added a new Piston Club located above the high-speed ‘Esses’ near the top of the course where plenty of thrills and spills have occurred in previous years.

With a limit of 250 guests per day, the Le Mans VIP Lounge Package includes a welcome drink on arrival, VIP parking and shuttle service, entrance to the event, all-day access to the pits, private viewing deck and a free programme. Guests are treated to morning and afternoon snacks along with lunch, unlimited tea, coffee, beer, wine, water and soft drinks throughout the day.

The new Piston Club is limited to 100 guests per day, and includes entry, parking close to the facility, all-day pit access, a programme, a light lunch including dessert, along with hot and cold beverages.

Hillclimb organisers suggest prompt booking of accommodation for the 2018 event, due to premiums expected after fires ravaged Knysna earlier in the year. A full list of accommodation partners, along with ticket prices, is available on the Hillclimb website.
