Lusaka, Zambia - A baby with congenital abnormalities has been born in Zambia with four legs, three hands and three kidneys, hospital officials said Wednesday.

The baby, who is currently in a stable condition, also has an abnormal liver, said Lupando Munkonge, a pediatric consultant with the University Teaching Hospital (UTH) in the capital, Lusaka.

"The features on the baby are a result of incomplete growth of another foetus and cell multiplication which could have led to the mother having conjoined twins," Munkonge said.

He said the extra legs and hand will be amputed soon, and the extra kidney removed afterwards.
