Brussels - European Union foreign ministers on Thursday formally agreed the launch of a military mission to train and restructure Mali's embattled army, the EU said.

“EU training mission established,” said a brief statement issued barely minutes after the bloc's 27 ministers went into crisis talks on Mali with the plan to send up to 500 non-combat troops, half of them trainers, to the west African nation top of the agenda. - Sapa-AFP
