Cape Town - A German citizen was abducted by unknown gunmen in northern Nigeria, the local newspaper Premium Times reported Wednesday.

Armed men on motorcycles kidnapped the man Wednesday morning at gunpoint in front of his house in the town of Gombi in Adamawa State.

The German reportedly works as the principal of a technical school. “The abductors laid siege on his house,” a neighbour was quoted as saying. “... As soon as the man came out and was about to get into his car, two persons on foot approached him and pointed a gun at him . ... They carried him away on their motorcycle.”
