In partnership with the US Consulate, The Denis Hurley Centre hosted the Butterfly project, a major arts and health education initiative as part of #AIDS2016.

The butterflies – a visual symbol of an Aids-free generation – will be brought together to build a huge sculpture that will weave through the atrium of the Denis Hurley Centre and out onto the street.

The project will be a massive attraction for delegates and media from around the world attending the International Aids Conference.

After the conference, elements of the sculpture will be donated to communities in KwaZulu-Natal.
