Johannesburg - The African National Congress (ANC) said it was saddened to learn of the passing of Police Minister Fikile Mbalula's mother, the party said on Tuesday.
Mbalula's mother, Emma Nomalanga Mbalula, reportedly passed away on Tuesday morning following a long illness.
ANC spokesperson Zizi Kodwa said in a statement that the party extended its heartfelt condolences to the minister's family following the news of her death.
"The African National Congress sends its heartfelt condolences to the Mbalula family on their tragic loss.
"We extend our deepest sympathies to the family, imploring them to find comfort and solace in a full life well lived," Kodwa said.
When contacted for comment, Police Ministry spokesperson Vuyo Mhaga declined to comment on the passing of the minister's mother.
