Johannesburg - Five men accused of the murder of a Northcliff family had their case postponed on Wednesday in the Johannesburg Magistrate's court.

Lesley Mokgadi‚ 35‚ Robert Maluleke‚ 28‚ Japan Malatjie‚ 28‚ Lechani Mlambo‚ 28‚ and Lucky Ligege‚ 36‚ were in court for the murder of Gregory, Melanie and her daughter Rakiel Naidoo.

The family vanished from their Northcliff house on Sunday night, June 4, with relatives arriving at the home the following morning – discovering a ransacked home and a significant amount of blood inside.

On the same day, three charred bodies were discovered in a stretch of veld in Centurion – but it took three days for police to announce that the cases were linked.

Six men were initially arrested in Pimville, Soweto, but the sixth suspect was released due to insufficient evidence.

The remaining five are facing charges of housebreaking with intent to rob, robbery with aggravating circumstances, theft, kidnapping, and murder.

The five men made a brief appearance while the date of the bailing application hearing for three of the five suspects was decided upon.

Two suspects, Mlambo and Ligege, were at a previous court appearance, denied bail.

The court then stood the matter down while the date was finalised and when it was recalled, the matter then postponed to October 5 at the same court.
