Cape Town - Police have confirmed the arrest of a Gugulethu man suspected of the serial murder of six women whose bodies were dumped near a Century City train station.

Provincial police commissioner Arno Lamoer told the Cape Times on Thursday night that the man could be linked to the murders of the women whose bodies were found with their hands tied behind their backs in bushes between Century City and the Acacia Park train station.

“Our investigation includes the murders in that area, we are not excluding them from our investigation, and we are not excluding other murders either,” Lamoer added.

Police spokesman Andre Traut said the suspect was arrested on Wednesday.

“He is due to make a court appearance on Monday.”
