74 more Covid-19 deaths in SA

CAPE TOWN- South Africa has recorded 74 more Covid-19 deaths, taking the total to 1 284, while

the cumulative number of confirmed cases, stands at 58 568, an increase of 3 147.

Of the latest deaths, 39 are from the Western Cape, 31 from the Eastern Cape and 4 from the North West.

Earlier on Thursday Health minister Zweli Mkhize said a milestone had been reached as over a million Covid-19 tests had been conducted in the country by technicians and pathologists from the National Health Laboratory Service and private laboratories.

The total recoveries to date are 33 252, which translates to a recovery rate of 56.8%.
