Activities that are high risk in exposure to the Coronavirus

South Africa is yet to reach its Covid-19 peak as the infections increased by 8 773, taking the total cases to 196 750.

While the economy has slowly reopened, schools welcomed back the return of grades R, 6 and 11, and restaurants and cinemas opened their doors, South Africans need to remember the Covid-19 safety regulations as things may look and feel normal.

The Texas Medical Association (TMA) recently published a list informing people of what activities are high risk in exposure to the Coronavirus. The list was ranked by physician experts from the TMA Committee on Infectious Diseases and TMA Covid-19 Task Force.

HIGH RISK

- Going to the cinema

- Working out at the gym

- Going to a bar

- Hugging or shaking hands when greeting

- Playing team sports like football or basketball

MODERATE RISK

- Attending a braai

- Having dinner at someone else's house

- Shopping at a mall

- Going to the beach

- Sending kids to school

LOW RISK

- Getting restaurant takeout

- Opening mail

- Going for a walk, run, bike ride

- Eating outside at a restaurant

- Filling up petrol
