CAPE TOWN - With physical distancing and staying at home becoming the most vital measures during the Covid-19 pandemic, Fortnite will be promoting such practices by hosting a live virtual concert.

Fortnite is a free-to-play game available on almost all platforms and is one of the most popular games globally bringing in over 78.3 million monthly players jumping into their available game modes.

Other than their popular Battle Royale mode, basically a last-man standing set on a large-scaled map, they surprise players with immersive live events within the game itself.

These live events interact with the in-game players with meteor explosions, rocket launches and outer-world interventions and many more all carrying part of a story unique to each season. One event even consisting of a live concert featuring the American DJ Marshmello.

With the current pandemic, Fortnite will be hosting a safe live event - not just a virtual live concert featuring Travis Scott but a world premiere of a brand new single - encouraging their players to stay at home, practice physical distancing and lift their spirits.

The event, called Astronomical, is set to take place between 23-25 April with 5 shows at varying times to accommodate players around the world with varying time-zones.

Attending will score players exclusive in-game content and be a part of a world premiere in a one of a kind experience.
