CAPE TOWN - With these trying times persisting, it is important to keeps spirits lifted especially those working on the medical frontline such as nurses and doctors. In efforts to raise spirits and share our appreciation, The Exceptional Nurse Campaign and Ndlovu Youth Choir calls on all South Africa's healthcare workers to join the #WeWillRise Dance Challenge.
The pandemic as emphasised the important roles healthcare workers fill in our society and with the Covid-19 outbreak many initiatives took off in efforts to share our nation's appreciation.
“When I heard the Ndlovu Youth Choir’s latest song – We Will Rise – I knew this was a song that we needed to be part of to help uplift the spirits of the exceptional nursing staff we have in South Africa,” says Sister Teresa Basson, founder of the Exceptional Nurse Campaign, “We are very excited that the choir have partnered with us on this project and allowed us to dedicate this song and dance challenge to the nurses of our country!”.
The Frere Hospital in East London was first to submit their #WeWillRise Dance Challenge video, which can be viewed here and are calling on all healthcare workers to put on their dancing shoes and share their video.
So how do you get involved? Design your moves, put on your shoes, round up your team and DANCE to the DREAM. Find The Exceptional Nurse Facebook page, post your video and nominate 2 other hospitals to accept your challenge. There are great prizes to be won. A judging panel of members from both the Exceptional Nurse Campaign and the Ndlovu Youth Choir will choose the top 3 finalists, after which the public will be called upon to choose the final winner.
